This was a wonderful read!
I definitely recommend this book by Dion Evans as a "Must Read" by clergy and so-called Christians in "The Church!" I found it to be quite interesting to the point that I read the book in its entirety in one evening!
A great read! Dion Evans communicates the blessing and burden of being gifted by God. An amazing dose of honesty, pain, progress and determination leap off the pages.
Dion Evans shares the deep under belly of minister today. The plight of our changing culture that believes blessings mean no problems and struggles mean God is not in it. We must fight to see and believe God even in our perceived failures. Thanks for being transparent.
This is a very well written book - Dion does an excellent job describing his own struggles in life and the spiritual battle that goes on within a person between good and evil.
On a very personal level I can very much identify with Dion's over-all experiences with the ministry (i.e. The Ministers Union and serving as a Pastor). I also believe that there is definitely a second book on the way further elaborating on his ministry experience - there was a lot he held back.
After spending over 20 years in ministry, transparency has always been a plus to me when it comes to preachers sharing some aspects of their live and ministry. This book here is one of those that is so transparent, its scary! Now I can be brunt and brutal at times, and I found myself at times with my mouth wide open because of the content. However, every single bit of it is and was necessary, and to the opened minded believer, it will be a source of strength. Dion Evans has gained my respect on another level. This is one you don't want to miss out on.
